Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Lipstick in Pink Pop

With Easter just a few days away, I really couldn’t help myself! Nothing says Hello Spring like a bright floral dress and bubble gum pink lipstick. What would make this look even better? A pretty little bow on top. With a look this over the top, I decided to go all the way. I paired my bright, bold lips by Maybelline’s Color Sensational line in Pink Pop, $8.79 at CVS.com, with a pastel eye. This is the first time I’ve tried the Vivid Collection by Maybelline, and I must say, I’ve fallen in LOVE. The color is richly pigmented and the texture is extra creamy and moisturizing. Easter is all about spending time with friends and family, oh and of course the perfect lipstick! I could easily pass as the Easter Bunny’s right hand man, or shall I say girl? Just don’t go messin’ with my peeps. Happy Easter-

got2b POWDER’ful Volumizing Styling Powder by Schwarzkopf

With my days getting longer and and my work load piling up, I definitely don’t have time for bad hair days. The past few weeks I have been spending a lot of time in front of the camera and this little gem helps keep my hair from going flat. I must admit, this powder has a strange texture and feel to it when you first apply it, but boy does it do the trick at giving you tons of volume. My hair is extremely long and lately it just looks flat! I know I’m in desperate need of a haircut, which is somewhat to blame, but my hair has just been lacking that major volume lately. I don’t know why I have an obsession with big hair, but I do, and the bigger the hair the better! I stumbled across this product about six months ago while browsing the hair section at Walgreens. Since it was so inexpensive, I thought I would give it a try. This volumizing styling powder by Schwarzkopf, called got2b POWDER’ful retails for $4.49 at Walgreens.com comes in a little shaker container. You sprinkle a little of the powder on the palm of your hands and gently pat together to get a tacky consistency. You then run your hands through your hair close to your scalp to give your hair that extra lift and volume. This one definitely gets a HIGH FIVE from me. Bravo Mr. Schwarzkopf… what else can I say?

Looks Inspired by American Hustle

lookIt’s Valentine’s Day, and I do realize this post is a little over the top, but my friend and I just couldn’t help ourselves after watching American Hustle a few nights ago. The wardrobe in this movie was amazing, and the hair and make-up immediately had my wheels turning on how I wanted to recreate these looks. Believe it or not, my friend Monet had all of these pieces just hanging in her closet! I know, every girls dream. This movie had me in awe. I loved the sex appeal that these women exuded. I thought to myself, being Valentine’s Day and all, this would be the perfect day to take your look to another level and blow your man away (okay, maybe this is slightly over the top) but just imagine how many heads you will turn! For both looks, we started with my usual favorite Dolce & Gabbana Foundation and Powder. For Monet’s look, I used a toned down neutral palette starting with the eyes. I first used a MAC Eyeshadow in Coquette. I then layered along the lashline, an eyeshadow by Laura Mercier called Black Karat. I lined her eyes, both top and bottom, with my Dolce & Gabbana Eyeliner in Stromboli and completed the eyes with Shu Uemura Farfallina lashes. To warm up her complexion, we used Laura Mercier Warm Bronze Powder and I brightened her cheeks with MAC blush in Peaches. I then layered on a couple coats of MAC Cremesheen Lipstick in Ravishing to complete her Amy Adam’s look. This look is perfect for both day and night and wasn’t nearly as over the top as mine. Now on to my look. I started with the sultry, smokey eyes inspired by Jennifer Lawrence. I first applied an eyeshadow by Edward Bess in Mystery. I too added along my lashline (and applied wet) the Laura Mercier eyeshadow in Black Karat for a hint of shimmer. I then completely lined my eyes with Loreal’s Infallible eyeliner in Carbon Black and smudged the liner with the remaining shadow I had left on my brush to create that smokey look. I applied one of my favorite bright pink blushes by Too Faced in Sweet Pink to give my cheeks that extra pop of color. Last but not least, the BOLD red, glossy lips. I used Wet n Wild Lipstick in Stoplight Red and topped it off with a MAC lipgloss called Russian Red. To date, this has been one of my most detailed posts on make-up, and it has also been one of my favorites! I cannot tell you how much fun we had shooting these pics, never mind the looks we got while shooting them. After all, this is Hollywood! So whether you are feeling a little daring or just want a fun look, go out and paint the town RED tonight. Have a fabulous Valentine’s Day! You are guaranteed to turn heads- xo

Batiste Dry Shampoo

Do you ever have one of those mornings when you’ve overslept and you realize you don’t have enough time to wash your hair? I have the answer. This dry shampoo by Batiste is a lifesaver. I have been using dry shampoos for a few years. Even though I have seen this brand in stores for a while, I just recently purchased it on a recommendation from my friend who says this is the best dry shampoo out there. These Batiste Dry Shampoos, $7.99 at Drugstore.com, come in tons of different scents. The tropical scent (shown above) smells like coconuts which I absolutely love. All you do is hold the spray about six inches from your scalp and spray in short bursts. Then gently massage the product into your scalp and hair. It definitely adds volume, texture and removes any oil build up you may have weighing your hair down. Washing your hair every day is not a good idea, so if you can skip a few days and use this in between, you will be doing your hair a favor. This product is going to BLOW you away- promise!

L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Extra Hold Hairspray

It definitely seems like I have been obsessed with my hair a little more these days, which means I’ve been trying tons of new hair products. I have a short list of favorites, most of which I’ve already told you about. I have been a fan of L’Oreal Elnett hairspray long before it was even sold in the states. Back in my modeling days, make-up artists always had a stash they smuggled in from Europe. I was able to confiscate a few bottles myself and fell immediately in LOVE! When they started selling this in the states a few years back, I was super excited. What I love about this hairspray is it has great holding power. You can also brush through your hair and restyle without it leaving build up. I prefer to buy the unscented version, as I don’t particularly like any sort of scented products to compete with my fragrance. I usually buy my L’Oreal Elnett at Target stores because they have it for the best price at $12.99. Next time you need a new hairspray, give Elnett a try. I’m confident it will become one of your favorites too. If only there were “No Bad Hair Days.” Now please get a HOLD of yourself!
