Pat McGrath MatteTrance Lipsticks

As you already know, I own way too many red lipsticks. From low to high end, I love a bold red lip and I have quite the collection to prove it!

I have been a huge fan of Pat McGrath’s work as a makeup artist for years. Coming from a fashion and modeling background myself, I have been in awe of her work on the runway, covers and editorial work since the early 90’s. Yes, you heard me correctly. I started modeling in 1988, so it’s fair to say, I’m quite aware of Pat McGrath’s phenomenal artistry.

Since launching her own cosmetics line after being the Global Creative Design Director for GUCCI cosmetics in 2014, Pat has become known for her super pigmented shadows and vibrant and bold lipsticks. With the lipsticks bearing a hefty price tag of $38 a piece, I was a little hesitant to take the plunge. So I decided to pick up the travel sized trio of the MatteTrance lipsticks at Sephora for $25 a few months back and they blew me away! I knew I would need to invest in the full size version as soon as they ran out. The trio included the shades Elson, Obsessed and Full Panic. Obsessed became my absolute favorite of the three shades. I also love wearing Obsessed on top of Elson for even more depth and dimension. I can wear both shades with my favorite Revlon Colorstay lipliner in the color red. What I love most about these lipsticks is their comfort and pigment. They are matte, but without the drying effect that most matte lipsticks usually consist of. The color pay off is also second to none. They stay super pigmented without the need for touch ups for hours on end.

In case I have not made it entirely clear, these Pat McGrath lipsticks are worth every penny and then some. After all, it’s okay to splurge once in a while! These lipsticks are absolutely one of my favorite makeup finds of this past year.

The Perfect Swimsuit by Wolf & Whistle for ASOS (Tan by Madame LA LA)

With Summer right around the corner (or if you live in L.A. like me, some days already feel like Summer!) you’ll want to start thinking about your Summer wardrobe now. If you wait until the weather actually gets warmer, everything is already picked over or you are left scrambling the “day of” an impromptu pool day. We’ve all been there & it’s not fun. When shopping for swimwear in general, I like to search for suits that I can wear multiple ways. For instance, I often times wear my bikini tops either with jeans or as a foundation under a sheer top.  My latest obsession has become the one piece. I’m also a fan of bodysuits (I never thought I would say this again, especially after owning quite a few in the 90’s). They just make my outfits so simple to put together. But let me say, all bodysuits are NOT created equal. Find the ones that are easiest to get out of on the go (if you know what I mean:)  What I absolutely love about the suit pictured above by Wolf & Whistle for ASOS, is the versatility it provides. Pair it with cut off jean shorts and you have the perfect casual outfit for the pool or daytime BBQ. I can also wear it with a skirt and a sheer loose sweater over the top for a edgy, but chic look for a night out. It’s just a great overall swimsuit! The weight of this suit is unbelievable and it was definitely a bargain for only $45. The quality and material of this suit rival any of the high end designers.

There’s a fine line between tan, and looking like you rolled in doritos.

I also believe the best addition to any swimsuit is the perfect fake tan. You know how much I love my self tanners. I was recently sent a self tanner by Madame LA LA to try and it has quickly become another one of my favorites. The key to a perfect tan is all about the application. Faux tans are a easy way to hide imperfections on your body and skin in general. What I love about the Madame LA LA dark self tanner is how quickly is allows me to achieve a deep, dark, flawless tan in a matter of minutes. The richness of this tan also lasts for days. Who doesn’t love that?

Happy New Year! What’s your resolution?

I’m a WOMAN…what’s your Superpower?

Happy New Year!  What’s your resolution? Okay, so we are more than half way through January and I get that I’m a little late to the game…but life is hectic and I’m trying to make it my New Year’s resolution to stick to a daily list of to-do’s and start checking them off my list as I go.

My New Year has not started off exactly as planned, but let’s be honest, life doesn’t usually go exactly as planned! I have been a bit under the weather and extremely fatigued which has made life a bit of a headache at the moment. First and foremost, my first words of New Year’s advice is, ladies, don’t let stress get the best of you. It will wreck your body and mind quicker than any other vice on the planet. Well, maybe there are a few others that wreck your body and mind quicker. But, I’m paying the price for the past three years of chronic stress, heartache and downright disappointment in people. IT’S SO NOT WORTH YOUR HEALTH! But I’m working through it in a holistic fashion, which is difficult…but worth it.

Now with that out of the way, I have some great things in the works and I’m getting back on track with MUST LOVE LIPSTICK too- (P.S. Videos and a YouTube channel are coming soon) I can’t wait to share so much of what inspires me to make a difference in this world and especially with young girls and women in general. Most of you at this point realize I’m a bit of an open book. I’m flawed just like everyone else. I have had super rough times and I’m constantly trying to improve myself and find holistic and spiritual ways to make my journey better. I’ve always been a believer in “What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.” I understand these words all too well unfortunately, like a lot of you do.

I don’t talk a whole lot about my other professions here on Must Love Lipstick, but I have been doing Interior Design for the past 17 years, and aside from being in the Entertainment Industry since the age of 8, I’m also a Realtor. Over the past few months, I’ve started focusing on incorporating the two, Design & Real Estate, into one business. I have always been artistic and I love creative ways of expressing myself. It is my passion! I am also a business woman at heart. So this venture makes so much sense. I love to challenge myself and find new things to add to my ever growing career related bucket list. I’m also great at telling people what shade of lipstick they should wear while designing their home or shopping for one! Haha.

I would love to know what you are passionate about? What gets you up in the morning? What drives you to be the best version of yourself? What fears do you have or obstacles would you like to overcome? After all, we are all in this together! Ok, I’m going to sound like a bit of a feminist here, but women are the most amazing people on the planet, and I’m not just saying this because I’m female. The strongest people I know are women and never cease to amaze me! So on that note, I would love for you to leave a comment below and let me know what your plans are for the New Year ahead and if you have any challenges you would like to overcome. I also would love to start collaborating with some of my readers, so if you have any ideas and you think we would be a great fit, feel free to contact me. My motto is “New Year, New Me.” Every day is a fresh start to be anything you want in life! I believe in you…and I believe in me too- xoxo, Jen

BTW- Check out my other sites. I would love to help you, your family and friends with more than just skincare and makeup! Although, I LOVE that too of course-  and

Eyeko London: Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner

MustLove Rating: 10/10

Want to master the winged liner look like a pro? Eyeko London Eye Do Liquid Eyeliner will help you create the perfect Cat Eye in a matter of minutes.

If you’re like me and just can’t seem to nail your eyeliner game (especially on mornings when I’ve consumed one too many cups of coffee!) this little gem from Eyeko London is a must. The tip of the liner is super fine and the size of the pen itself is perfect in every way and is a breeze to apply. The consistency is so smooth, you’ll never have to tug or pull or feel like your liner is skipping across your lids. The color I’m wearing is Carbon Black and is exactly like it sounds…pitch black! It’s also waterproof, so even on humid days or crying your way through The Notebook, your liner will stay perfectly placed. I also love applying the liner to the outer corners of my lower lash line to give my lashes and the shape of my eyes a bit more definition.

Wait…I’m not quite finished. Do you want another reason to LOVE this liner as much as“Eye do?”  This Eyeko liner Features WIDELASH which will help eyelashes appear longer, fuller and stronger with up to 3 times more volume in just 15 days regular use. Now you all know I need as much help in the lash enhancement department as I can get!

In case I have not made it perfectly clear, this has definitely quickly become one of my favorite liquid liners to date. It might just deserve a round of applause-

Day 5: Trader Joe’s Honey Mango Moisturizing Shave Cream

trader joes

With Summer just around the corner, this next bargain find might just become a staple in your life like it is mine! I’m lucky enough to live on top of a Trader Joe’s (literally) which definitely makes my life so much easier at times. I love their ever changing assortment of skincare lately and I have quickly fallen in LOVE with their Honey Mango Shave Cream. I was a little skeptical at first because, as you all know, I have eczema and I have to be super careful with what I use on my sensitive skin. First and foremost, this stuff smells AMAZING! The consistency is definitely a cream, so if you are in to the foaming shave gels, this one’s not for you. But this cream is perfect for getting a clean, close shave. It’s also a bargain at just $3.49. So the next time you feel like baring it all, or just a little, reach for my favorite shave cream on the planet! I’m pretty sure you will fall in love too-
