BareMinerals Stroke Of Light Eye Brightener

Okay, you are probably going to start to see a running theme here with me and the issue I have with my eyes. I DO NOT get enough sleep…ever! I wish it wasn’t true, but I just can’t seem to get my eight hours of beauty sleep that I so desperately need. So, the next best thing is faking it. It is simply a fact, I not only use a concealer, I almost always use some sort of brightener under my eyes as well. I often reapply during the day too when I feel like my eyes need a little pick-me-up. One of my latest discoveries is BareMinerals Stroke Of Light Eye Brightener in Luminous 2, $22 at Sephora.com. I like so many things about this product. First and foremost, the packaging makes this really easy to apply. Just a few dabs around the corners of your eyes and you are good to go. Also, it’s hydrating, so it tends to keep those fine lines at bay and keeps your skin fresh and dewy. This little tube of magic is quite a bargain, especially compared to some of my other favorite eye brighteners. So if you’re like me and feeling a little sleep deprived, definitely pick up Stroke Of Light, it’s become my secret weapon. Well, I guess it’s not a secret anymore!

Obagi Nu-Derm System

Let me start by saying, the Obagi Nu-Derm system is not for the faint of heart. It’s also not for anyone that does not want to commit to a few months of a multiple step routine. If you decide to try this system, you will end up with beautiful, even toned, and refined skin. The first few weeks are pretty brutal. I have used this system on three different occasions. The first time I used it was definitely the harshest. Be prepared to peel a lot. Yes, your skin will also be slightly red and flaky. Once you get past the initial exfoliation phase, which really only lasts a couple of weeks, it’s not too bad. Anyone suffering from pigmentation issues or if your texture just isn’t as smooth as it used to be, this is the routine for you. The one product that really boosts the entire system and takes it to the next level, is the combination of Retin-A mixed with the Obagi Blender. Retin-A is a very powerful prescription strength form of Vitamin A. Obagi products are available at Plastic Surgeon and Dermatology offices across the country. I have ordered my system from Lovelyskin.com on a few occasions and they have great prices and really quick delivery. The Obagi Nu-Derm system comes is two different versions. One is tailored for oily skin and the other for normal/dry skin. The trial version shown above retails for $229 and is worth every cent. Now get GLOWING and be prepared to reveal more beautiful skin.

Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Sangria

I rushed right out and purchased this Milani lipstick in Sangria after it was suggested by Alicia via Facebook. I always love a great recommendation, so I knew I just had to try this one for myself. I decided the real test would be to see how this fared through a greasy Thanksgiving feast! I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised. It stayed pretty much put the entire day. Only after 5 hours, which included plenty of eating and drinking, did I need to reapply. I picked up this amazing Milani lipstick for the bargain price of $5.99 at my local Walgreens. Even the packaging of this lipstick is pretty. It kind of reminds me of my two favorite brands, YSL and Dolce & Gabbana. I can’t wait to try some of the other colors. Thanks again Alicia for the tip! I have another great lipstick to add to my ever growing collection.

How To Look (somewhat) Good In Your Passport Photo

Times have changed a lot in the past twelve years on the regulations while traveling abroad. This definitely includes specifications on your passport photo. I was told hair now has to be tucked behind your ears, and don’t even think about angling your face or dropping your chin for a more flattering look. Oh, and you guessed it, NO smiling! Here’s a few tips to help your passport photo look more like a beauty shot instead of a mug shot. Put on a little extra make-up that day. Emphasize the eyes with more intense eyeliner and maybe even add a few extra lashes. Finish off your look with a brighter blush paired with a soft pink lip. The rest is up to you. The best photos are always the ones that don’t look completely forced. It’s as easy as that. After all, it’s not like the DMV. If you don’t like your photo, you can go for round two if you don’t mind spending the extra money. Remember, don’t over do it with big earrings or other accessories that will date the photo. You are going to have this passport for the next ten years. I am aware that my photo is slightly scary, especially since I’m always smiling. This is definitely out of my comfort zone, but I guess I have to follow by the rules! Happy Travels!

Sally Hershberger Major Body Instant Volume Hairspray

I’m always looking for products to boost the volume of my fine, limp hair. I stumbled upon Sally Hershberger’s Major Body Instant Volume Hairspray while on a recent trip to my local CVS. I am usually a dedicated L’oreal Elnett user, but I decided to give this a try because it was on sale for $6.99. I first sprayed this on the underside of my dry hair while I was flipped upside down to create a little more volume. I then sectioned off my hair and sprayed each section before I curled it with my 1″ curling iron. When I was finished curling my hair, I lightly sprayed my entire head. Not only did this hairspray give my hair major volume, it smells amazing. At the end of the day, I was pleasantly surprised when I realized my hair had not gone flat and my curls were still intact. I definitely feel like this is one of those products that I should stock up on, especially while it’s on sale. I definitely want to try more Sally Hershberger products since I had such fantastic results with this hairspray. This hairspray will not only boost your volume, it will also boost your mood. When you step out your door, you will know you look FABULOUS!
