MAC Studio Tech Foundation

I think I might just have a new favorite, affordable, “everyday” foundation. I recently had the chance to try Studio Tech Foundation by MAC. As you all know, I’m a loyal Dolce & Gabbana foundation fanatic, but geez, it’s expensive! I was simply wowed by this creamy compact foundation in NC25. I have super dry skin and of course layered this over my primer. It provides a full coverage look and makes my skin look absolutely flawless. Now I’m sure you can apply this in a lighter layer if you are not one to wear a heavier foundation, but for me the coverage is perfect! I love how quickly I can apply this foundation. With my days getting more and more hectic, every minute counts! Especially in the morning when I always seem to run out of time. I set this foundation with my usual Dolce & Gabbana powder just to ensure a little staying power, but I’m sure you could use any powder you have with the same gorgeous finish. A quick swipe of my favorite bronzer and my skin looks picture perfect all day.

Sunblock: The Key To Aging Gracefully

You have all heard me time and time again about the importance of sunblock. People always ask me what the best thing they can do for their skin and my answer always remains the same. Protect your skin from the harmful rays year round and start at a young age. It’s amazing to me how many people still like to lay out and get a tan! I’m constantly preaching  about sunblock and how great self tanners are these days. There is really no need to cause harm to your skin. As far as sunblocks go, I of course have my favorites that I have used through the years. The key is really just using any sunblock that will help shield you from the damage. Sun damage breaks down the collagen in our skin aging it at a faster rate and although it might not seem apparent now, it also causes sun spots and contributes to the progression of melasma and of course let’s not forget skin cancer. Not only does my daily moisturizer have an SPF in it, so does my foundation and my bronzer. I feel you can never have enough coverage! I also never leave the house without my sunglasses. Sunglasses are great at preventing those pesky crows feet and if I know I’m going to be outside for any length of time, I  wear a wide brimmed hat. I’m sure you think I’m starting to sound like a broken record, but believe me, the advice I received from my grandmother in my teens has saved my skin and allows me to look years younger than I actually am! Amen-

Tanwise Dark Bronzing Sunless Mousse

I know what you’re thinking…this girl has a major obsession for self tanners. TRUE! The problem is, great self tanners are few and far between. That’s why when I discover a self tanner than actually works, I rave about it. The problem with great self tanners is most of them are pretty pricey. Tanning can become an expensive habit, so I’m constantly on the hunt for a reasonable way to keep my skin looking sun kissed year round. I often times discover these great products by a simple Google search. Which was how I found Tanwise. I was about to order it on Amazon when I realized they sell it at Sally Beauty Supply. Since there is one a few miles from my house, I just made a quick stop and picked it up. Tanwise has a pretty extensive line. Since I was after the darkest version, I went with the Tanwise Dark Bronzing Mousse and it was only $12.99. I will say that this self tanner is DARK! Probably one of the darkest self tanners I’ve ever tried. With that being said, I love the color and it supplies an almost instant tan. The only thing I don’t love is how it wears off. It gets a little blotchy but it’s not enough to discourage me from buying it again. For the price, it is absolutely amazing. You will be blown away by the rich, dark color and this actually smells good too! The only way you can safely rock a tan, is with self tanners. Your skin will thank you years down the road-

MAC Cosmetics Toledo Eye Palette in Moodyblu

You will normally ALWAYS see me with my signature bright red lips! But, there’s definitely a new love in town. I was recently given the MAC Cosmetics Toledo eyeshadow palette in Moodyblu and have instantly fallen in love. The palette consists of an array of deep blues and metallic grays and silvers and it is the perfect palette of hues to create an amazing smokey eye. MAC is known for their amazing collaborations with designers, celebrities etc. and this collection had me in awe. As always, when I become obsessed with something, I  wear it to death! This is definitely one of my favorite discoveries in a while. I love how the colors can go from subtle to bold in a matter of a few swipes. I paired my sultry eyes with one of my favorite nude lip glosses by Dolce & Gabbana in the color Caramel for the perfect combination. This palette seems to have flown off of the shelves but If you can get your hands on it,  you won’t be disappointed.  I promise!

MAC Prep & Prime 24-Hour Extended Eye Base

Perfect make up always starts with the perfect base. How your makeup ultimately looks on your skin is based on perfectly prepped and primed skin. I am a huge fan of primers and since I’m starting to age, I love what primers do for my texture and fine lines. But priming doesn’t just stop with your face. I also always use an eyeshadow primer to keep my color super pigmented and to help it stay looking fresh for hours. I recently had the chance to try MAC’s Prep & Prime 24-Hour Extended Eye Base. I can say that this might be the best shadow primer I’ve ever used. It instantly smoothes my lids and leaves them ready for a flawless application. It makes my shadows more pigmented and bold which is a huge plus. My eyeshadow looks insanely perfect after 8+ hours of wear too! This primer is definitely a must have for your beauty arsenal. Trust me, you are going to LOVE it!
