Pat McGrath MatteTrance Lipsticks

As you already know, I own way too many red lipsticks. From low to high end, I love a bold red lip and I have quite the collection to prove it!

I have been a huge fan of Pat McGrath’s work as a makeup artist for years. Coming from a fashion and modeling background myself, I have been in awe of her work on the runway, covers and editorial work since the early 90’s. Yes, you heard me correctly. I started modeling in 1988, so it’s fair to say, I’m quite aware of Pat McGrath’s phenomenal artistry.

Since launching her own cosmetics line after being the Global Creative Design Director for GUCCI cosmetics in 2014, Pat has become known for her super pigmented shadows and vibrant and bold lipsticks. With the lipsticks bearing a hefty price tag of $38 a piece, I was a little hesitant to take the plunge. So I decided to pick up the travel sized trio of the MatteTrance lipsticks at Sephora for $25 a few months back and they blew me away! I knew I would need to invest in the full size version as soon as they ran out. The trio included the shades Elson, Obsessed and Full Panic. Obsessed became my absolute favorite of the three shades. I also love wearing Obsessed on top of Elson for even more depth and dimension. I can wear both shades with my favorite Revlon Colorstay lipliner in the color red. What I love most about these lipsticks is their comfort and pigment. They are matte, but without the drying effect that most matte lipsticks usually consist of. The color pay off is also second to none. They stay super pigmented without the need for touch ups for hours on end.

In case I have not made it entirely clear, these Pat McGrath lipsticks are worth every penny and then some. After all, it’s okay to splurge once in a while! These lipsticks are absolutely one of my favorite makeup finds of this past year.

Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Intense Lipstick in #40

You all know how I feel about my red lipsticks…Well anything with a hint of orange is a close second! To this day, Le Orange by YSL is still one of my all time favorite colors of lipstick. So of course, while browsing at Sephora yesterday (browsing, who am I kidding?) I stumbled upon the Make Up For Ever section. This BOLD, bright almost electric orange lipstick quickly caught my eye. It was almost an exact dupe for my beloved YSL Le Orange but for a fraction of the cost. What I love about this Rouge Artist Intense lipstick is that it is highly pigmented and has a creamy finish. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a great matte lipstick, but sometimes I just want something with a bit more of a sheen. I paired it with my basic clear lipliner that I use with all of my lipsticks these days and it kept my lipstick from feathering. It kept my kisser perfectly put for hours on end. Ladies, this is definitely another lipstick that is NOT GREAT for that first date, but what the heck! You only get one chance to make a first impression. This will definitely leave him wanting more!

Wet n Wild Fergie Collection Eyeshadow in Metropolitan Nights

As I was shooting these pictures, I was reminded how much I actually ADORE a great smokey eye. This used to be my favorite every day look for years. Smokey, heavily lined and smudged eyes with a pale nude lip. I recently stumbled upon the Fergie CenterStage Collection Eyeshadow by Wet n Wild in Metropolitan Nights, $5.29 at Walgreens.com, while on a quick run to pick up my beloved Elnett hairspray. What first caught my eye was the shimmering metallic gold color, but as I reached for this little gem, I actually squealed with excitement. The other colors in this kit are amazing as well! I first applied the light cream color to my entire eyelid. Then I took the dark metallic charcoal and blended it across my lower lid. After lining the inner rim of my lash line with a black eyeliner, I took the same dark color and smudged around my entire eye. I then quickly dusted the lighter taupe across the lower part of my lids to soften the harsh edges. To complete my look, I of course had to put on my favorite pale lipstick by Dolce & Gabbana in Nude. If you have light eyes like I do, a smokey eye will really make your eyes pop. I was definitely loving the change. One of my favorite things about makeup is you can reinvent yourself 365 days a year. So today I’ll be a Rockstar-

Wet n’ Wild Megalast Lipcolor in Sugar Plum Fairy

Sorry folks for the hiatus! I have been extremely sick over the past few weeks. So pardon the gaunt look. I could barely swallow, no less eat. But thankfully I’m on the up and up now! Whew- Well, It’s that time of year again to pull out your favorite rich hues. I’m madly in love with Megalast Lipcolor in Sugar Plum Fairy by Wet n’ Wild. It is the perfect cross between a rich burgundy and a plumish violet. The color is so rich and pigmented, people won’t help but notice your smile! I love paring a plum lip with a gold metallic eye. There is something about the combo that just warms up this look without going overboard. I used my basic clear lipliner (as I always do) and then layered on this rich lip color that lasts for hours. What I love about Wet n’ Wild lipsticks is they never dry out my lips and you definitely can’t beat the price. For $1.99 why not pick up one in every color?

Dolce & Gabbana Intense Color Gloss in Purple Passion

My obsession with Dolce & Gabbana continues! After a few pretty HOT weeks in L.A,. I must admit, I’m ready for Fall. I adore fall clothes and adore Fall makeup even more! From rich, dark hues to sultry eyes, Fall is the perfect time to pull out your intense colors. As you all know, I’m the biggest fan of bold lips. My latest find, Dolce & Gabbana’s Intense Color Gloss in Purple Passion is so luxuriously rich and pigmented, that it has “LOOK AT ME” written all over it. I’m sure you are thinking, this girl has never met a Dolce & Gabbana product she has not liked, and it’s true! Although pricey, Dolce & Gabbana’s line of cosmetics and skincare just keeps evolving into one of the best brands on the planet.  This gloss pairs perfectly with an understated copper eye and it has just the right amount of purple to lean more sultry and less over the top. I love the consistency of these glosses as well. They are never tacky or sticky, just perfectly creamy with the right amount of shine. All I can say is HELLO FALL! I’ve been waiting for you all Summer-
