Happy Thanksgiving: I’m Thankful For You!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! It has been one crazy year. I have so much to be thankful for and all of you are a big part of that. What started off as a really hard time in my life has turned in to an incredible journey. Almost a year to the day, I launched Must Love Lipstick. I had recently gone through a really bad breakup and needed a creative outlet to distract me. My blog started as a therapeutic journey, but quickly became one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever known. I have always loved makeup and have been obsessed with skincare from a very young age. I’ve been a very visual and artistic person as well, so it was no surprise I fell in love with makeup at a very young age. The art of transforming myself was liberating beyond belief. This year has been the best year of my life. As much heartache and the enormous mountains I had to climb to get back to a really healthy place emotionally, I can honestly say, life is amazing. This blog started as a creative outlet and has now become my life. I am truly excited for you to join me on the next chapter of my life and share all that is in store. I will tell you without a doubt, there is truth behind the saying, “What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.” I honestly never thought I would recover from the betrayal and devastation I felt after my unexpected breakup…but everything happens for a reason and I’m truly blessed and grateful for where I am today. I’m especially thankful for every single one of you!  Thank you for the continued support. Have a beautiful Thanksgiving. Love Always- Jen

Wet n Wild Coloricon Bronzer in Ticket to Brazil

I LOVE having a golden complexion year round. I always use sunblock so whenever I’m sporting a tan…it’s FAKE! From self tanners to bronzers the only healthy tan is a faux tan. I’m constantly trying new bronzers and I switch them depending on the season. In the Winter months I prefer a lighter, more subtle tan. My sister had been raving about this bronzer by Wet N Wild in the color Ticket to Brazil. So when she surprised me with this bronzer last weekend I was super eager to try it. I love this bronzer for so many reasons. First and foremost, the color is pure perfection. What this bronzer contains that most don’t is an SPF 15. The texture of this powder is great as well. It easily glides over my skin for a consistent bronzed glow and guess what, it’s only $3.99! So for the price of a latter you can easily look like you just got back from that tropical vacation. Well, one can dream anyway- xx

Holiday Hair: Big, Bouncy, Beautiful Locks

I’m a huge fan of BIG hair! Preparation is everything in achieving big, bouncy, beautiful locks. With the Holidays right around the corner, there’s no better time than to talk hair. From pulled back ponytails, to slicked back buns, there’s one hairdo that never goes out of style. Healthy, bouncy curls that just say “look at me!” I have a lot of hair, but it is definitely fine. Through the years my hair has lost it’s lustre as well it’s volume. The key to having full, healthy looking hair with curls that last all nightlong is the preparation. I always start with my favorite shampoo and conditioner by Catwalk called Your Highness. In my opinion it is one of the BEST volumizing shampoos on the market. Before I blow dry my hair, I spritz my towel dried hair from root to tip with Sally Hershberger’s Supreme Lift Spray. Once my hair is dry, I set my entire head with hot curlers, only using the large and medium size curlers in the set. It’s best to keep your curlers in until they cool. I normally just put mine in and then do my makeup. By the time I’m finished applying my makeup, my curlers have cooled and I’m ready to take them out. Once I’ve removed the hot curlers, I immediately flip my head upside down and spray the under side of my hair with my L’Oreal Elnett. This gives your hair amazing volume. After 30 seconds, I flip my hair back over and lightly brush any unruly curls. I spray my entire head with Elnett and it keeps my curls tight for hours. You can also completely brush your curls out for an elegant side swept look that just allows your hair to look bold and bouncy with less definition. I know it sounds like a lot of steps, but it’s worth it! After all, you want to look FABULOUS in all of your Holiday photos…they will be around for years to come-

GlyDerm Cream Plus 10: The Ultimate Skin Saver

Sorry for the lack of posts this past week but I have been battling a bad case of Strep Throat! This time of year we become more susceptible to flu bugs and colds. I was completely caught off guard when my Dr. came in and told me I had Strep Throat…UGH! I had not had this since I was a teenager. We can all relate to the damage being sick not only does to our overall well being but our skin too. It is even more important when you’re sick to take extra care of your skin. I constantly try to stay extra hydrated, which has been almost impossible since I could barely swallow. I doubled up on my Omega 3 supplements as well which helps my skin retain moisture and natural oils. At night I pulled out one of my most hydrating creams by GlyDerm called Cream Plus 10. This cream does wonders for dehydrated skin. You have seen my reviews on other GlyDerm products, which I LOVE as well, and this cream is no different. The Cream series is specially formulated for dry or mature skin. It contains 10% glycolic acid that provides the perfect balance of hydration and exfoliation to enhance your complexion. During the day, I lived with my Eclos rejuvenating mask on my face at all times. This was the perfect combo for my dehydrated skin. I’m finally on the road to recovery luckily, but this has been a reminder to not let myself get run down or let stress get the best of me. Living a well balanced life helps keep our overall health in check! Here’s to a healthy Winter (& beautiful skin) ahead-

Milani Power Lip Stain in Cabaret Blend

I must admit, I have become quite the fan of all things MILANI! When a friend gave me a few of these Milani Power Lip Moisturizing Gloss Stains, I squealed with excitement! You all know my obsession with all things that contain the word “Lip” in it. Lipstick, Lip Gloss, Lip Liner, Lip Balm. I’m not normally a Lip Stain kinda girl, but this had the staying power of a stain but could easily be layered to look like a gloss. What more could a girl want? I love the rich berry tone to this shade called Cabaret Blend. It’s the perfect color for Fall and definitely livens up your skin tone. It’s another hit for me…Thank you Milani for making my days more beautiful! xx
