BITE BEAUTY Luminous Creme Lipstick in Violet

With Spring just around the corner, it’s time to pull out your boldest, brightest shades. From eyeshadow, blush, lipstick, and even eyeliner, the shades of the season are brighter than ever. I love BOLD lipsticks because they make your pearly whites look even whiter. I’ve been reviewing quite a few drugstore brands lately, but I still love a good splurge on a lipstick if it’s absolutely FABULOUS! BITE BEAUTY is “Good Enough To Eat” according to their motto. Each BITE Lipstick is infused with the age-fighting antioxidant resveratrol-the equivalent of five glasses of wine. I adore the texture of these lipsticks. They are extra creamy, hydrating and richly pigmented. I’m wearing BITE BEAUTY Luminous Creme Lipstick in Violet, $24 at Sephora.com. Bold Lips are great for those days when you are dressed casual but still want a bit of Glam for a more polished look. I must admit, even on the days when I’m super casual, I still prefer to leave my house with great lips. Long gone are my days of Cherry ChapStick. As I like to say, GO BIG or GO HOME…

Josie Maran Argan Milk Intensive Hydrating Serum

I am totally going to step outside of my comfort zone here. I knew the day would come when I would have to post a picture of me with absolutely NO MAKE-UP so my readers can see how I look before I put myself together every day. Last night after washing my face, I thought this is it, I’ve got to do it. Now let me just say, I’m not a big fan of selfies, but I was getting ready to go to bed and I live alone. This is the best I could do! Now that I have put a disclaimer on my “Make-Up Free” face, let’s get to the review. I have extremely dry skin, and in the winter months, it’s even drier. Although I use a pretty rich moisturizer, I felt I was still lacking hydration. This Josie Maran Argan Milk, $56 at sephora.com, is simply amazing. I have used a lot of serums over the years, and this one definitely ranks in my top two. Just a few drops are enough to cover your entire face. I then immediately layer my Caudalie Premier Cru on top for perfect hydration. The first day I used it, my skin looked and felt great all day. This miracle in a bottle diminished any fine lines I had and left me with perfectly dewy skin. I always tell people, you MUST start any make-up routine with a good canvas, which means well hydrated skin!

Shiseido Benefiance Pure Retinol Instant Treatment Eye Mask

I’m a girl that rarely gets facials. I actually love pampering myself at home instead. I feel like I get more bang for my buck and I can often get numerous treatments or applications for the price of just one facial at the spa. As we age, one of the biggest concerns for fine lines and wrinkles is the eye area. It is the first area of our face that will start to show aging, and when you laugh as much as I do, It’s both a blessing and a curse! I discovered these amazing eye treatment masks three years ago and absolutely fell in LOVE. Shiseido Benefiance Pure Retinol Treatment Eye Mask, $62 for 12 packettes, at Nordstrom.com, are one of the best treatment products I have found for the delicate eye area. You apply the mask to your eye area and leave it on for 15 minutes. When you remove the mask, you are left with super smooth, hydrated skin. I actually have not a line in sight when I use these. They are perfect to use when you have that special event or a big night out on the town. They are a little pricey but worth every penny! I don’t mind splurging on products if they actually work…these definitely live up to their claims and more-

Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion

How you prep your face prior to putting on your makeup, is just as important as the foundation, powder, etc. itself that you use. By starting with the proper canvas, you provide your makeup the perfect base for smoother skin and longer lasting results. I am a big fan of primers. I love the way they smooth out my complexion. When it comes to eyeshadow primers, they definitely help keep your eyeshadow stay put and also helps intensify the color. They also block out any discoloration you may have on your eyelids. One of my favorite eyeshadow primers is Urban Decays Original Eyeshadow Primer Potion, $20 at Sephora.com. I really like the consistency of this primer itself. It’s not too powdery and it is the perfect color to neutralize my lids. When I first discovered eyeshadow primers, I thought the idea of it kind of just seemed like it was a waste of money. I knew I could certainly just get away with using my face primer on my lids as well, but eyeshadow primers definitely work and once you have used one, you will be hooked for life

Throwback Thursday: The Looks You Would Just Like to Forget

After stumbling across old pictures of me with really bad hair, clothes, and make-up, I decided to pay tribute to “The Ghost of Make-Up Past.” ( judging by this picture, the emphasis should be on the word GHOST!) I want to spotlight the worst fads ever known to mankind. Whether it was your bad hair, eyebrows, lipstick or anything else you would just like to just forget, I want to see it! Please send me any pics you have displaying a look that you are glad you out grew. If you are so inclined, also include a recent picture that you are more proud of. Listen, this is all in good fun, and believe me I have plenty of pictures I would like to just plain forget about! There were a few with my sister that I was absolutely forbidden to show. I wasn’t even sure where to begin, because honestly I had some pretty bad years. The one thing that seemed to be a constant theme were my heavy, blunt bangs, HUGE eyebrows, (or no eyebrows) and let’s not forget the jet black hair. Although at the time, I thought it looked pretty good, these are definitely some trends I don’t ever want to revisit. I remember begging my Mom to let me get my hair colored when I was sixteen. When we went to the salon I asked for a dark chocolate color and walked out with black hair! I was already pale to begin with, so maybe someone should have told me I needed to wear lipstick or at least some blush with hair this dark. I have not colored my hair in years, I think because I’m still afraid of looking like Morticia Addams again. These pictures were all taken within a two year period, and it’s amazing I even have eyebrows after plucking them so thin! Oh memories, I’m glad these looks are a thing of the past-
